But even with those flaws I'd still put it up there with my favourite FPS already, so much better than the vast majority of modern FPS. Modders have added so much - iron sights, much better squad AI, more dynamic and dangerous enemies, ragdoll, particle effects, a snake cam, an arsenal of new weapons and gadgets, HD textures and character models - and the game looks so much better than a game from 2003 has any right to look.īut then imagine my surprise when I stumbled on the fact that an 18 year old game still has an active and very impressive mod scene which has taken the game to the next level.įollowing the instructions to install all the mods listed here, as well as the Reshade setup here, the game is transformed to close to perfection.
